Seiko’s history began in 1881, when a 21 year old entrepreneur, Kintaro Hattori opened his own business of selling and repairing timepieces in Tokyo. Eleven years later, in 1892, he established a factory called “Seikosha” which means “House of Exquisite Workmanship.

In the 2nd half of the 20th century, Seiko made a big impact in the watch industry by producing watches to compete with its Swiss competitors and ultimately create the first quartz watch. Not long after, that lead to the disruption of the entire watch industry which is also known as the “Quartz Revolution.

Today, Seiko has various collections such as the Seiko 5, Presage, Prospex, and many more. Different collections for different purposes.
